Booking & Cancellation Policy
City Sea Sauna AS – Bergen, Norway
Last updated: 28/04/2026
When you book a session with City Sauna, you enter into a binding agreement. We aim to be fair and solution-oriented, and we ask that our guests respect our staff and the time slots allocated to other groups.
1. Cancellation by the Customer
-
We understand that plans change. Our policy is designed to offer flexibility while protecting our operational costs.
-
More than 24 hours notice: You are entitled to a full refund, minus a 10% administrative fee to cover transaction and processing costs.
-
Less than 24 hours notice: Bookings are non-refundable.
-
How to cancel: You must notify us via email at admin@citysauna.no or by phone. The timestamp of your request determines the refund eligibility.
2. Rescheduling & Changes
-
Notice of 24h+: The first rescheduling request is Free. Subsequent changes to the same booking incur a 10% administration fee.
-
Notice of <24h: Rescheduling is subject to a 15% late-change fee.
-
Downgrades: We do not offer partial refunds if your group size decreases. To change to a smaller/cheaper session, you must cancel your original booking (subject to the fees above) and rebook.
3. Arrival & Time Management
-
Your Time Slot: Your booking includes the time needed for changing, instructions, and the sauna session itself.
-
Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time. We cannot extend sessions as this impacts the next group. No refunds or compensation are provided for lost time.
-
The 15-Minute Rule: For private bookings/cruises, the host will wait for 15 minutes. If you have not arrived or contacted us by then, the booking is marked as a "No-Show" and is non-refundable.
4. Weather & Company Cancellations
Safety is our priority. If City Sauna must cancel due to extreme weather (typically wind speeds of 8–9+ m/s) or technical issues:
-
You will receive a Full Refund or a free reschedule.
-
Sauna Cruises: If sea conditions prevent sailing, we may offer a "Stationary Private Session" at the dock and refund the price difference.
-
Note: Standard Norwegian rain or moderate wind does not entitle a guest to a refund if the session is deemed safe to proceed.
5. Alcohol & Safety Rules
To ensure a safe and premium experience for everyone:
-
BYO Limit: Guests may bring a maximum of 2 units of alcohol (e.g., 2 beers or 2 glasses of wine). Spirits and hard liquor are strictly prohibited.
-
Intoxication: We reserve the right to refuse entry or terminate a session without a refund if guests arrive heavily intoxicated or behave irresponsibly.
-
Swimming: Use of the sea is at your own risk. Always follow the Sauna Master or Captain's instructions. Jumping from the vessel is prohibited unless explicitly authorized.
-
Hygiene: You must shower/rinse off salt water before re-entering the sauna. Shoes and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the sauna.
6. Damages & Cleaning
-
Extra Cleaning: We reserve the right to charge a fee for extraordinary cleaning required due to biological waste (vomit), broken glass, or excessive spills.
-
Liability: The person who made the booking is financially responsible for any damage to the facility caused by negligent or reckless behavior by their group.
7. Health Self-Assessment
By booking, you confirm that you are in fit health to use a sauna and swim in cold water. If you have heart conditions or are pregnant, please consult a doctor beforehand. City Sauna is not liable for health consequences resulting from a failure to assess your own medical condition.
