-
Economic Inflation: Adjustments in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to maintain the relative value of our services.
-
Service Investments: Price changes reflecting ongoing investments in our fleet, sauna facilities, and equipment upgrades to ensure a premium experience.
-
External Factors: Changes in government taxes, public duties, or significant fluctuations in utility costs (e.g., electricity) beyond the company’s control.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1 Formation of Agreement
The agreement is binding for both parties when the buyer has submitted a booking request and received confirmation from the seller.

2.2 Payment
For bookings made on the website, 100% of the amount is charged at the time of booking.
For events and special arrangements, payment or invoice may be made as agreed.
The customer is responsible for checking all information in the booking confirmation.

2.3 Cancellation Due to Weather or Safety (by the company)
If City Sauna must cancel a booking due to weather conditions, safety considerations, or technical issues beyond our control, the customer will be offered the choice between:
-
A full refund of the total amount paid;
-
Rescheduling to another available time of the customer's choosing; or
-
Converting a Sauna Cruise booking to a Private session at the dock, including a refund of any price difference between the two services.
City Sauna will not charge any fees when the cancellation is caused by circumstances on our side. We will notify customers as early as possible if changes are necessary.

3. Cancellations, Changes & Right of Withdrawal

3.1 Cancellations (by the customer)
Customers may cancel their booking at any time, subject to the following terms:
-
Cancellations requested more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time: The customer will receive a refund of the total amount paid, minus a 10% cancellation fee to cover administrative and transaction costs.
-
Cancellations requested less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time: the booking is non-refundable (100% of the amount is charged).
How to Cancel: Cancellation requests must be submitted by email or phone. The cancellation time is determined by the timestamp of the email or the time the call is received.
Weather Conditions: Normal Norwegian weather conditions such as light rain or moderate wind do not in themselves entitle the customer to a free change or cancellation if City Sauna considers the service safe and feasible.

3.2 Right of Withdrawal
Under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act, the right of withdrawal does not apply to time-specific leisure activities (Ref. Section 22 (m)). Consequently, bookings for sauna sessions, cruises, and events are binding once confirmed and are non-refundable. City Sauna is not obliged to offer a refund or rescheduling for confirmed bookings, as these services are reserved for a specific date and time.

However, City Sauna voluntarily offers a flexible cancellation option as described in Section 3.1.

3.3 Changes to Booking by the Customer
Customers may request to reschedule their booking to a different date or time. All changes are subject to availability and must be confirmed by City Sauna.

Fees for Rescheduling:
-
Changes requested more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time: The first change is free of charge. Any subsequent changes to the same booking will incur an administration fee of 10% of the booking value.
-
Changes requested less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time: A late rescheduling fee of 15% applies to all requests.
City Sauna will, as far as possible, attempt to accommodate requests for rescheduling, but this cannot be guaranteed and is always subject to availability.

Weather Conditions: Normal Norwegian weather conditions such as light rain or moderate wind do not in themselves entitle the customer to a free change or cancellation if City Sauna considers the service safe and feasible.

3.4 Late Arrival and Use of Booking Time
The booked time slot includes the entire period the customer is permitted to use City Sauna’s facilities, including changing time, preparation time, and any instructions given by the crew.

Customers who arrive late are not entitled to:
-
An extension of the session,
-
Compensation for lost time, or
-
A partial refund.

Access to the sauna and premises is only permitted during the booked time slot. Early arrival or staying after the session has ended is not allowed unless explicitly authorised by the crew.

The customer is responsible for managing their time within the booked period. If the session must end at the scheduled time due to other bookings or operational requirements, the customer must vacate the sauna and premises immediately when instructed by City Sauna staff.

3.5 No-Show (Failure to Attend)
If the customer or group does not show up at the agreed time without prior notice, the booking is considered used and no refund will be given. The host will normally wait up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. After this, the capacity may be reassigned to other guests.

3.6 Group, Events and Commercial Bookings
Special conditions apply to large groups, corporate clients, and travel agents. These may include requirements for upfront deposits, earlier cancellation deadlines, and custom pricing for add-on services.
In the event of a conflict between these General Terms and a specific group contract, the terms of the specific contract shall prevail.

3.7 Late Payments & Overdue Invoices
Interest on Late Payments:
In accordance with the Norwegian Interest on Overdue Payments Act (Forsinkelsesrenteloven), City Sauna charges interest on any invoice not paid by the due date. The interest rate is set semi-annually by the Ministry of Finance (based on the Norges Bank key policy rate + 8%). As of July 2025, the applicable overdue interest rate is 12.25% per annum. (https://www.regjeringen.no/no/tema/okonomi-og-budsjett/renter/forsinkelsesrente-/id429404/)

Late Payment Fee (Gebyr):
In addition to interest, the following fees apply to overdue payments:
-
Private Customers (Consumers): A reminder fee (purregebyr) of NOK 35 will be added to any payment reminder sent 14 days after the original due date.
-
Corporate Customers (B2B): For business accounts, City Sauna reserves the right to charge the statutory "Standard Compensation for Recovery Costs" (Standardkompensasjon) of NOK 470 per overdue invoice, in accordance with the Forsinkelsesrenteloven § 3a. (https://www.regjeringen.no/no/aktuelt/forsinkelsesrente-og-standardkompensasjon-fra-1.-januar-2025/id3081265/)
If payment is still not received after reminders, the claim may be transferred to a debt collection agency (Inkasso), incurring further significant costs for the debtor. (https://lovdata.no/dokument/SF/forskrift/1989-07-14-562)

-
Hygiene: Please take a quick shower to rinse off salt water before re-entering the sauna.

-
Children and minors under a certain age must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
-
Accompanying adults are responsible for the safety of children at all times.
-
The captain may refuse boarding if it is assessed that safety for children cannot be adequately maintained.

4.8 Damage and Extra Cleaning
The customer is financially responsible for any damage caused to the vessel, sauna, furniture, or equipment resulting from negligent, reckless, or intentional behavior.

City Sauna reserves the right to charge the customer for:
-
Repairs & Replacement: The full cost of repairing or replacing damaged property.
-
Extra Cleaning: Fees required for extraordinary cleaning due to incidents such as vomit, excessive drink spills, broken glass, or other biological waste.

Payment of Damages:
By accepting these terms, the customer authorizes City Sauna to charge these costs to the payment method used at the time of booking. Alternatively, payment may be requested via VIPPS or invoice, due immediately upon receipt.

4.9 Capacity and Maximum Number of Guests
For safety and regulatory reasons, the following applies:
-
The maximum number of guests on board or inside the sauna is determined by City Sauna (normally up to 12 people per session) and must not be exceeded.
